Private In-Home Workshops: The Gold Standard in Preparation

While we offer digital consultations, our In-Person Childbirth Workshops are the most effective way to prepare. These sessions allow for hands-on practice with comfort measures, positioning, and partner support techniques that simply cannot be mastered through a screen.

3-Hour Comprehensive Hospital Prep Workshop | $395 + HST

A deep dive into the essentials of hospital labour and immediate postpartum.

  • Physiology & Stages: Understand the mechanics of labour, the "Golden Hour," and the transition from home to hospital.

  • Medical Support & Advocacy: Navigating epidurals, nitrous oxide, and interventions with a "benefits vs. risks" framework.

  • The Mindful Toolkit: Mastery of breathing, visualization, and mindfulness meditation specifically for a clinical setting.

  • Partner Empowerment: Moving the partner from "observer" to "active birth guardian" with hands-on coaching.

The Full Series: 2 x 3-Hour Intensive | $650 + HST

Our most popular choice for first-time parents. This extended series covers the foundational workshop plus advanced topics:

  • Surgical & Specialized Birth: Understanding Cesarean birth, VBAC preparation, and multiples (twins).

  • Physical Comfort: Techniques using the squat bar, peanut ball, and hydrotherapy/water labour.

  • The Fourth Trimester: Newborn sleep, breastfeeding/bottle feeding mechanics, and postpartum mental health.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We recommend starting your classes between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. This ensures the information is fresh, but gives you plenty of time to practice your mindfulness and movement techniques.

  • Yes. Our service area includes the Old City of Toronto, Etobicoke, North York, Vaughan, Aurora, Brampton and surrounding regions. We bring the classroom to your living room.

  • Absolutely. We specialize in "Family-Centered Cesareans," helping you understand your options for skin-to-skin, music, and mindful presence in the OR.

  • Mindfulness and self-hypnosis are practical tools for the "mental game" of birth. In our sessions, we practice specific techniques to help you down-regulate your nervous system amidst the beeps and interruptions of a hospital environment. By mastering visualization and focused breathing, you can create a "mental sanctuary" that helps manage pain, reduces the production of adrenaline, and allows your body’s natural oxytocin to flow more freely.

  • Absolutely. Every family has a unique vision, whether you are planning for a medicated birth, an unmedicated experience, or are still undecided. Because these are private sessions, we tailor the discussion to your specific goals, hospital-specific protocols, and any personal preferences or cultural traditions you wish to honour.

  • While hospital tours are great for logistics, their classes often focus on institutional efficiency. Our workshops are independent and client-centered. We dive deeper into evidence-based advocacy, hands-on comfort measures, and the "why" behind interventions, ensuring you have a diverse toolkit that goes beyond the standard hospital curriculum.

  • Yes, we highly encourage it! Our goal is to shift the partner’s role from a supportive spectator to a confident, active participant. We spend significant time coaching partners on physical support techniques, advocacy phrases, and how to hold space, so they feel as prepared and empowered as the person giving birth.

  • Many hospitals in the GTA, such as Mount Sinai and St. Joseph’s, now support hydrotherapy (using the shower or tub for comfort) during labour. While full waterbirth (delivering the baby in the water) depends on specific hospital policy and your healthcare provider’s comfort level, we prepare you to navigate these conversations. Our workshops cover the benefits of the "water epidural" and how to use water effectively to manage sensation and promote relaxation in a clinical setting.

Capturing the Journey: Maternity & Newborn Photography

Birth is a fleeting transition. As part of our holistic approach, we offer professional film-style Maternity, Birth and Newborn Photography. Using a high-end, documentary-style approach, we capture the raw beauty of your pregnancy and the quiet, sacred moments of your first days at home with your newborn.

Whether it’s a sun-drenched maternity session or a "Fresh 48" session in the hospital, we ensure these memories are preserved with the same mindfulness we bring to our doula care.
