“Having the experience of a doula at our home birth was hugely reassuring to us for starters; but far beyond that, Leah’s peaceful presence, confidence in my abilities, and relentless positivity lead us to have the medication-free homebirth of my dreams. Having her know-how, her experience, and her calm and loving presence there was really reassuring. I am proud of myself and my son for what we accomplished with [our doula’s] help.”
— Sarah Waggott (Thornbury mom)
“I was in 43 hours of labour and I don't think I would have done it without Leah's help and knowledge. She provided the utmost level of service and care even in the pre-labour stages.”
— Sasha Exeter (So Sasha, Toronto mom)

Frequently Asked Questions about Birth Support in Toronto
Do you offer home birth support in Toronto?
1
Yes. I am a strong advocate for the "Soft Landing" of a home birth. I assist with labour pool setup (waterbirth), environmental comfort, and seamless transition support for families working with local midwifery teams.
When should I book a birth doula in the GTA?
2
Because I provide a high-touch, premium level of care, I only take a limited number of clients per month to ensure every family receives my full, undivided energy. Most of my families in the Downtown Core, Etobicoke, and North Yorkreach out during their first trimester to secure their space. While I officially open the booking process anytime after the 12-week mark, I recommend connecting as soon as you feel ready to ensure availability for your specific due date window.
Do you support "high-risk" births or scheduled C-sections?
3
Absolutely. Advocacy is even more vital in a high-risk setting. Whether you are navigating a twin birth, a medical induction, or a planned Cesarean, I provide a calming presence and help you process information in real-time so you can make empowered choices for your family.
What is the difference between a Doula and a Midwife in Ontario?
4
This is a common question for Toronto families! A Midwife is a primary medical care provider who delivers the baby and performs clinical tasks. As your Birth Doula, I do not perform clinical tasks. Instead, I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support. I work alongside your Midwife or Obstetrician to ensure you feel empowered, informed, and physically comfortable throughout the entire process.
Do you take photos during birth?
5
Yes! For families planning and homebirth or hospital delivery, I offer professional birth photography as a stand-alone services and as a complimentary offering for all birth doula clients.
