Hospital Birth Security. Midwifery Personalization. Doula Continuous Care.
Dedicated birth doula support tailored specifically for families delivering at Mount Sinai Hospital with hospital-based midwifery teams—including complimentary documentary birth photography.
Continuous Physical & Emotional Presence in a Clinical Setting
Mount Sinai Hospital offers world-class obstetric and midwifery facilities, but navigating hospital admissions, triage environments, and medical equipment can feel overwhelming and even interrupt the labour process. While your midwives manage clinical monitoring and clinical decisions, Leah provides a steady, continuous calming presence and focuses on supporting your birthing hormones through every phase of labour.
Early Labour at Home: Stay home comfortably receiving hands-on comfort measures, your own bed, and hydrotherapy before transitioning to Mount Sinai. Given Leah’s additional training as a Midwife Assistant through Tennessee Midwifery Centre, her ample First Aid & Rescue training, and her extensive labour and delivery experience, clients feel comfortable labouring at home for longer. She helps identify red or “pink” flags labour and understand what is normal and what is not.
Triage & Admission: Navigating hospital registration calmly while maintaining continuous physical support and breathing guidance. Leah immediately turns down the lights, sets the mood with music, and helps to encourage an intimate and quiet birthing space. Midwives appreciate the extra professional labour support while they take care of clinical checks and documenting.
Continuous In-Room Support: Unbroken care through shift handovers, epidural placements, or labour augmentations—ensuring you feel heard and grounded. Leah acts as a gentle advocate, a team player with the midwives, and offers evidence-based suggestions and position changes throughout. From helping a client with an epidural onto a birthing stool; to assisting with those first latch; Leah is there for it all (and takes great photos too!).
